About WACIH
WA Community Innovation Hubs (WACIH) was an initiative established in 2015 to explore the creation of a
makerspace association in Western Australia, focused on the Perth metropolitan area south of the river.
The initiative is currently inactive. Several people initiated the project, but competing commitments and
lack of time meant that it did not progress beyond the initial planning stage.
The information below records the original objectives of the initiative. If you're interested in reviving the idea
or would like to connect with others interested in community makerspaces in Perth, you can join the mailing list.
Original Association Objectives
A draft constitution for WACIH was prepared in 2015 as part of the process of establishing the proposed association.
The association was not subsequently established, so this document was never adopted as the constitution of an
incorporated association. It is provided here as a historical record of the WACIH initiative and the structure that
was proposed at the time.

- Build and maintain spaces suitable for technical and social collaboration for the benefit of the community.
- Collaborate on all forms of technology, culture and craft in new and innovative ways.
- To encourage and foster experimentation and education in technology.
- To encourage and provide formal and informal training on a range of topics, and targeting a range of skill levels.
- Provide a safe and secure working environment.
